Private Pay - Sliding Scale

Private Pay is a designation that indicates a client does not have insurance and will be self paying for their sessions.


Marking a Client as Private Pay

To do this, follow these steps:

  • Go to Clients
  • Click on the client's name
  • Scroll down to the Private Pay section
  • Toggle the private pay switch to enable
  • Enter the Custom / Discounted Fee
  • Click [Save]

Alternatively, you can also do this under the client's 'Insurance' tab with the following steps:
  • Go to Clients
  • Click on the client's name
  • Click the Insurance tab at the top
  • Under the section 'Insurance Claim Settings' click [Make Private Pay]
  • Enter the Custom / Discounted Fee 
  • Click [Save]


Removing a Private Pay Designation

To remove a client's status as private pay, navigate to the following:

  • Clients
  • Click on the client's name
  • Toggle the Private Pay option to disable

Alternatively, you can also do this under the client's Insurance tab with the following steps:

  • Clients
  • Click on the client's name
  • Click the Insurance tab at the top
  • Under the section 'Insurance Claim Settings' click [Not Private Pay]


When Charting

Adjusting the private pay or sliding scale fee can be done while charting as well.

As a Provider:

  • Go to your Schedule
  • Click on the appointment
  • Click [Start Charting]
  • Adjust the custom / discounted fee to the right of CPT Code
