Private Pay - Sliding Scale
local_atm Private Pay is a designation that indicates a client does not have insurance and will be self paying for their sessions.
This designated pay rate will override the default CPT Code costs for this client.

Marking a Client as Private Pay
From the Client Profile:
To do this, go to:
- (left menu)
- Click on the client's name
- Scroll down and find the Private Pay section
- (Beneath Credit Cards, above Primary Insurance)
- Toggle the private pay switch to enable and reveal the section
- Enter the Custom / Discounted Fee
- Click
From the Client Profile → Insurance tab
Alternatively, you can also do this under the client's 'Insurance' tab with the following steps:
- (left menu)
- Click on the client's name
- Click Insurance (top tab)
- Under the section Insurance Claim Settings click
- Enter the Custom / Discounted Fee
- Click
Removing a Private Pay Designation
From the Client Profile:
To remove a client's status as private pay, navigate to the following:
- (left menu)
- Click on the client's name
- Scroll down and find the Private Pay section
- Toggle the Private Pay option to disable, hiding the section
From the Client Profile → Insurance tab
Alternatively, you can also do this under the client's Insurance tab with the following steps:
- (left menu)
- Click on the client's name
- Click Insurance (top tab)
- Under the section Insurance Claim Settings click
When Charting
Adjusting the private pay or sliding scale fee can be done while charting as well.
As a Provider:
- Click (left menu)
- Click on the appointment
- Click
- Near the top, adjust the discounted fee to the right of CPT Code / Units
