Client Referral Source and Reports

Easily track and report on who referred a client to your practice!

Do you receive referrals from other professionals or organizations, or just want to note if a client found you on Google? Create a list of referral sources in your ‘Practice Contacts’ list, set the referral source in the client’s profile, and run reports. Read on to find out more about this handy reporting and tracking feature.

Required Dependency

Referral sources in the system are based on your Practice Contacts. For more information about that, please read more about that here: Practice Contacts

Add a Client Referral Source

To add a referral source to a client's profile, navigate to:

  • Clients (left menu)
  • Click on the client's name
  • Under the profile, find the Referral Source section (beneath "Clinical Information")

  • By default, a client has no referral source
  • Click the dropdown to make a change:

If the referral source is not in the list, simply click the top option which will bring you to create a new Practice Contact. We use your list of practice contacts to populate the referral source list automatically.


Want to Remove a Client Referral Source?

From the client profile, click the ' x ' beside the already selected referral source highlighted below:


Reporting on Client Referral Sources

To view a handy report on referral sources for your clients, go to:

  • Reporting (left menu) → then click Referral Source (middle column):

Filters (right):

  • Date range (when client was added)
  • Client status
  • Therapist
  • Referral source

At the bottom, you can both search and view clients listed, as well as option to export a CSV file (spreadsheet) with the data contained here.
