Request a Finix card reader
To request a card reader, follow these steps:
- On any screen click (top right)
- Then click Billing & Ins (top tab)
- Find the section Payment Processing near the bottom
- On the top line, click the far right button
- On the next screen, click shown here:
- Then click the top button shown here:
- Proceed with the checkout steps to purchase one, or multiple card readers for your practice

Initially set up your PAX A800 Card Reader
Before connecting your card reader, we first need to set it up!
Box contents:
Within the box sent, you'll notice these items:
- The PAX A800 terminal (supports tap to pay, chip inserts, and magnetic swiping)
- AC adaptor
- USB C to USB C cable (used to charge the terminal)
- Small paper roll to get you started with printed receipts
- Brief users manual & a QR code for a quick setup guide (though we recommend using ours below)
Steps:
Powering on the Terminal:
- First, charge your device to at least 70%
- On the left side of the unit, press and hold the small power button for 2-3 seconds until you hear a beep
- To turn off, press & hold the power button for 3-5 seconds. When a menu appears chose power off
- The terminal should then boot up and load to a home screen with a few apps listed
Set up the Terminal:
- Tap on Settings
- Click Network & Internet
- Then click Wi-Fi
- Select your Network, enter the wi-fi password and press Connect
- You should return to the list of wi-fi networks. You should now see Connected under your wi-fi network
- Click the bottom center circle to return to the home screen
- Open the Payments app from the home screen → This is important and will need to be on your terminal screen when you either:
- Adding your card reader with us
- And when taking payments within the system
- In terms of the terminal, you are done for now!
- Onto the next step of adding your card reader in our system in the next section
Integrate your Finix card reader
Once you get your card reader online, you're one set of steps away from using it!
Add your card reader:
- On any screen click (top right)
- Then click Billing & Ins (top tab)
- Find the section Payment Processing near the bottom
- On the top line, click the far right button
- On the next screen, click shown here:
On the new prompt, enter the information shown:
Name
→ Used to identify which card reader this is at a glance (ex: Front Office, Dr. John Dorian's office, etc)
Serial Number
→ This is found on the back of the unit near the bottom, image below
Model
→ We currently only support the PAX A800 card reader
→ This model supports stardard swiping, card chip and tap to pay options
- When finished, click
- You should then be redirected to the credit card processor management page:
With the Payments app open on your PAX A800 card reader, you should see this screen:
🎉 Congratulations! You have successfully set up your card reader and can begin using it to take payments.
info Important note:
Before clicking take a payment, ensure your terminal is turned on and the Payments app is pulled up.
