Legal Guardian / Responsible Party
In a medical or billing context, a responsible party (sometimes called a guarantor) is the individual or entity designated to pay the medical bills. While this is usually the patient themselves, it can also be a parent (for a minor), a legal guardian, or a spouse for example.
